Danfonds Frontier Fund SPC

Creating Carbon Credits

Following the disposal of Danfonds Investment Management (Cayman) Limited, C-Questor Group acquired a majority stake in Danfonds.  It is C-Questor's ambition that Danfonds become one of the leading investors, creators and traders of Carbon Credits.  Once the restructring is complete, Danfonds will exclusively advise on emission control credit structures and carbon reduction strategies. Danfonds intends to issue and manage Carbon Credits. 

Danfonds and Carbon Finance

In an era of downturn in global markets Carbon Finance is one key sector of world business that continues to flourish. Indeed, the United Nations has estimated that the Carbon Finance sector alone could be worth some US$1.48 trillion by 2020.  To service this market, the C-Questor Group has acquired a strategic stake in Danfonds. This acquisition follows the disposal of Danfonds Investment Management (Cayman) Ltd. and the sale of  the Danfonds Frontier Fund SPC to Silk Invest Limited. Danfonds role in Carbon Finance is of significant relevance as Denmark is rapidly emerging as a key country in the global drive towards a new international treaty to replace the Kyoto Treaty when it expires in 2012 through a UN sponsored conference to be held in Copenhagen in November and December 2009. 

With its focus on Carbon Finance, Danfonds will advise public corporations, private companies and individuals, governmental organisations, NGO's and key stakeholders in the the creation and marketing of official carbon credits (CER's or Certified Emissions Reduction certificates) and voluntary carbon credits (VER's or Voluntary Emissions Reduction certificates) together with enhanced VER's with such added features as environmental services and biodiversity services.
